WHAT IS THE CRAZIEST THING YOU EVER HAD TO DO AT A WEDDING?
Back in 2007, when President George W. Bush was running for re-election and Jeb Bush was Governor of Florida, Governor Bush was attending a wedding and there were a group of very vocal, anti-war protesters outside the venue. After pleading with the protesters to put down their megaphones (which, thankfully, they did) I had to ask the Governor to crawl through a row of hedges between the ceremony and reception sites to avoid being seen by the protesters.

HOW SIMILAR IS WHAT YOU DO TO JENNIFER LOPEZ’S CHARACTER IN THE WEDDING PLANNER?
Not so much. It is similar in that we help our clients with venue, food and beverage, stationery, dress and décor decisions. We also sometimes wear a headset. That’s where a lot of the similarities end.

The best way to think of us is as your wedding’s general contractor – we manage all the details and logistics – including many that wouldn’t be considered glamorous but are critically important for everything to run flawlessly. We negotiate with city transportation departments to block roads, we manage transportation schedules, we run generators, we convince beachgoers to stay away from your sunset photos, we hire security teams, we secure green rooms and all the rider requirements for your band – including all the green M&Ms when necessary, we gain security clearances for your guests and our entire team of vendors, we secure work visas at international destinations, we manage your guest hotel blocks, we apply for permits and coast guard approval for fireworks, we deliver welcome gifts, we design rain plans, we talk your priest into making an announcement for the guests to keep their phones down during the ceremony, we design cocktails with your mixologists and make sure all of their required produce is available for them at the destination, we charter flights, and negotiate restaurant buyouts. The list is never-ending, but it’s through the management of these logistics behind the scenes that makes the experience so incredible for you and your guests.

WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER TO BE YOUR MAIN SPECIALTY?
Our main specialty is in “experiential design” – meaning designing the event from the perspective of how your guests will encounter it, remember it and tell their friends about it. From the save the date and invitation that will arrive in the mail, to the welcome gift they receive at check in, to the shuttle that picks them up for the ceremony, to the bartender that mixes their cocktails, to the presentation of the meal, to the energy of the band and to all the surprises they will be delighted with throughout the night. We make fun, memorable weddings happen!

HOW MANY MEETINGS WILL WE HAVE? HOW OFTEN WILL WE COMMUNICATE, AND HOW? DO I PAY FOR EACH MEETING?
How many meetings would you like? Our philosophy is “if it is safe, legal and related to your wedding, it is included in our fee.” Tracie’s boutique approach creates an enjoyable experience for her clients that is fun and memorable throughout. This is why she limits the number of weddings she takes on annually to a maximum of eight – to meet the needs of her busy clients. This means, when you book with Tracie Domino Events, you talk to Tracie, not another member of the team. She is the only vendor or creative partner that you will begin working with closely with from the time you start planning your wedding until months after all the guest have returned home.

ARE YOU EXPERIENCED WITH DESTINATION EVENTS?
We often joke that if we were to ever host a party for our current and past clients, that it would need to be held in New York City, because that is where 80% of them live while planning their weddings in Florida, Deer Valley, the Bahamas and other destinations.

About fifty percent of the weddings we plan are not just destination events for our clients, but also for our Tampa Bay-based team. So don’t worry, if you are planning an out of town event, you are not alone! We can handle most planning on the phone or over email with one or two trips to the destination for site visits, menu tastings, and décor decisions. Our satellite office in Deer Valley also makes things simplier for clients traveling to the Park City area for their weddings.

DO YOU PLAN OTHER WEEKEND EVENTS SUCH AS REHEARSAL DINNERS, WELCOME PARTIES, BRIDESMAID LUNCHEONS, FAREWELL BRUNCHES, ETC.?
Yes – we book a maximum of one wedding per weekend and are available to assist with however many wedding weekend activities you are planning. Pricing is based on the scale and scope of the events.

IF YOU ONLY TAKE ON 8 WEDDINGS PER YEAR, WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO?
Planning eight large-scale weddings every year takes up the vast majority of our time. To provide the highest level of customer service that our discerning clients have come to expect – we dedicate approximately 250 hours to each wedding we plan and execute.
